Coaching
We're excited to introduce Traci Chu as our new Head Coach!
Traci comes to Leslie Beach Club with many years of experience as a coach, and former college, club, and summer swimmer and diver.
Currently, she is in her 9th year as head diving coach at Lakeside High School.
Traci grew up in Alabama and Texas before moving to Atlanta. She earned a full athletic college scholarship for diving, and swam backstroke and breaststroke. After college she continued diving and qualified to compete in the diving Olympic Trials. After college she became a stunt woman and performed high dives and high falls for movies and commercials. She has worked in wholesale home decor in marketing and public relations, but currently coaches, and officiates swim meets and gymnastics meets for USA Gymnastics.
She lives on Payton Oaks with her 3 kids, 3 cats, and 2 dogs. Will and Olivia Lanford are in college, and Noah Lanford is a junior at Lakeside High School where he plays football and golf.
She is very excited to jump into coaching at LBC, and looks forward to a successful and fun summer season!

Swim Meets are on Tuesday nights starting at 6pm. The first Meet of 2025 is Tuesday May 27th, then every Tuesday through the end of June. There will be Home Meets at LBC and Away Meets at other pools in Dekalb County. The ASA championship meet at the Georgia Tech Olympic Natatorium will be during the last week in June, and participation will be optional for LBC.

The LBC Swim Team is a seasonal competitive swim team offering high quality coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every swimmer an opportunity to enjoy the experience of being on a summer swim team while also engaging in Dual Meet competition. While we focus on achieving success at his or her level of ability, parents need to understand that Swim Team is not a substitute for swim lessons. For swimmer and team safety, all new members and returning Junior Penguin swimmers must complete a swimmer evaluation with the head coach. All of our coaches, as members of the American Swimming Coaches Association, have great experience both with the summer DeKalb Swim League and year round swim teams. They provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time. The LBC Swim Team is run by parent volunteers. Please look out for volunteer opportunities during each meet. |
